According to Naples police, a 26-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle on Ortiz Avenue while driving at a high speed.
It was reported that Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash and transported nine people who suffered injuries to a nearby hospital. Accordingly, officials noted that the occupants of a minivan sustained serious injuries.
The report says the woman who drove a BMW, and the two passengers of the car. sustained serious injuries as well. Although authorities reported varying degrees of injuries among the victims, both drivers sustained the most severe injuries.
The female BMW driver allegedly lost control of her 535i while traveling at a high speed on Ortiz Avenue. The BMW rear-ended a 2014 Honda Odyssey, which was traveling with six occupants at Eastwood Village.
Upon impact, the minivan driver lost control, police added. The Honda then careened into the side of the road after being struck by the BMW.
Police are investigating the crash.
