Law enforcement officials say three people suffered various injuries in an accident involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 95.

According to officials, the accident involved a tractor-trailer and three cars on Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale. Authorities said the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control of the vehicle approaching a stopped traffic.

Authorities did not say why he failed to stop the vehicle. The driver ran into a total of three other vehicles at the before coming to a stop.

Emergency service workers arrived at the scene and administered medical aid to the victims of the collision. EMS reported that two passengers in one of the cars were injured. Also, at least one of the drivers involved in the crash reportedly suffered injuries. The victims who were injured were transported to the nearest hospital.

The accident is still being investigation and authorities will release more information to the public pending completion.
