A motorcycle driver was seriously injured following an accident at the intersection of Riverland Road and Southwest 9th Street. This happened after a collision with a Ford Explorer.
According to officials, the accident occurred at the intersection of Riverland Road and Southwest 9th Street. The driver of a Ford Explorer approached the intersection without looking and hit a motorcyclist in the process.
Police reported, that the 33-year-old driver of the Ford quickly applied his brakes after he sighted the motorcycle but could not avoid a collision. The motorcycle, which was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, was sideswiped by the Ford. The motorcycle spun out of control after being hit by the truck and crashed by the side of the road after climbing the curb.
EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened to administer on-site first aid. Emergency crews reported that the motorcyclist sustained several injuries and was transported to the nearest hospital. The Ford driver was not injured in the accident and was interrogated by law enforcement officials at the accident site.
