A Jacksonville woman is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and a van on San Jose Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said the crash happened in the 7300 block of San Jose Blvd. around 6:45 p.m.
Authorities said the woman was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and traveling south on San Jose Boulevard while the Ford van was traveling north. Both vehicles had the green light at Bolles School Drive when the van made a left turn into the school and failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle. The motorcyclist then ended up crashing into the back of the van.
Officials said the motorcyclist was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was identified as a 38-year-old woman.
Police said the driver of the Ford van is a 46-year-old man who was traveling with no passengers.
Officers are in the early stages of the investigation but said they don’t believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
