Fort Myers EMS said a 46-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries in a motorcycle accident on Cortez Boulevard.
Report says the victim was riding on Cortez Boulevard near Fort Myers High School when the accident happened. She was traveling so fast that she lost control of the bike, Fort Myers Police spokesman said.
While making a turn, she failed to maintain control of the motorcycle and ran off the right side of the roadway. In this process, she struck a parked disabled black 2014 Toyota Rav4. She was knocked off from the motorcycle and sustained moderate injuries, police said.
The Toyota Rav4 was said to have broken down and pulled onto the shoulder of the road a few minutes earlier and was waiting to be towed. The motorcyclist was transported to the nearest hospital by EMS ambulance.
Fort Myers Police Department is investigating the accident and promised to make the details of the accident report public soon.
