The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating a car crash that injured a motorcyclist at the intersection of Northwest 7th Avenue and Northwest 16th Street.
It was reported that the crash took place at the intersection of Northwest 7th Avenue and Northwest 16th Street in Fort Lauderdale. Police say the accident involved a motorcycle driven by a 23-year-old man and a Chevrolet car driven by a 34-year-old man.
According to the official report, the motorcyclist was heading towards the intersection when it was struck by a car while crossing. A police spokesman said the driver of the car failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist at the intersection.
Upon arrival, EMS reported that the motorcyclist was transported to the nearest hospital with severe injuries. The driver of the car was not injured in the collision and remained at the accident scene to be questioned by law enforcement officials.
No charges have been filed at the time of this report and no further information has been given to the press. Officials say the cause of the accident and its contributing factors are still under investigation.
