Troopers say they are investigating a head-on crash where a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries on Monday afternoon at Palm Street and Grouper Drive.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the driver of the car veered into the motorcyclist’s path, forcing the motorcyclist to crash into the right side of the car.
The driver of the car, a 73-year-old woman from West Roxbury, Massachusetts, was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic. The driver and her 80-year-old passenger were not hurt.
The Naples motorcyclist, 29, was rushed to the hospital. They have serious injuries, according to troopers.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet when the crash happened, according to authorities.
