A motorcyclist was critically injured in an accident after his motorcycle was rear-ended by an SUV at the intersection of FL-25 and Northwest 17th Avenue.
According to the news released by Miami authorities, the crash happened at the intersection of FL-25 and Northwest 17th Avenue. An SUV rear-ended a motorcyclist in a left-turn lane.
Officials did not say why the SUV hit the motorcycle from behind. The motorcycle itself was damaged almost beyond recognition due to the damage it sustained in the crash.
EMS arrived to the accident scene and said the motorcyclist was critically injured and was taken to the nearest hospital. Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash.
Lanes on the road were closed while clean-up crews worked and hauled the wreckage from the scene. All lanes have since reopened. Officials say the crash remains under investigation while details of the parties involved in the crash have not been made public.
