Mother Critically Injured After Collision on Independence Way

An accident on Independence Way that left the mother of two children critically injured, Law enforcement officials reported.

Officials added that the crash happened when the driver of a silver Chevrolet traveling southbound on Independence Way suddenly went off the road on a curve. The Chevrolet overturned several times and collided with the vehicle carrying the woman and her children. The Chevrolet came to rest on its side, however, the vehicle that was hit lost control and swerved off the road.

Report says EMS arrived to the scene of the crash and administered on-site first aid to the victims of the crash. The driver of the Chevy sustained serious injuries.

The mother reportedly sustained critical injuries. EMS rushed her to the hospital as a trauma alert patient.

It was reported that her two children were not hurt in the crash. Fortunately, they were strapped safe in their car seat.

The crash remains under active investigation, officials said.
