It was reported that a woman from Miami Springs was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Northwest North River Drive at Allapattah in Miami.
Report says a 58-year-old woman of Miami Springs died from blunt trauma after being involved in the incident.
The victim and a 52-year-old man were riding on a moped when they were struck by a dark GMC Yukon at the intersection of Northwest North River Drive and Northwest 22nd Place, according to the Miami Police Department.
She later died at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She and the driver of the moped were thrown off. A silver, older-model Oldsmobile then ran over the victim. Both vehicle drivers left the scene and did not stop to help the injured moped riders.
It was also reported than an arrest has been made of a 72-year-old man, he was the driver of the Oldsmobile that drove over the victim. ‘’He’ll be charged in court as soon as investigation is concluded’’, police said.
The male victim was not seriously injured.
Police are still seeking the driver of the Yukon. Surveillance pictures of the suspected vehicle is serving as a major clue in the investigation.
