Report says a Miami-Dade school bus aide was in critical but stable condition after being trapped in a school bus that collided with a dump truck.
This accident reportedly happened near Holmes Elementary School in Miami. It was reported that children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department said, Miami Fire Rescue did an excellent job in breaking through this school bus to get them out.”
The crash occurred at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Northwest 67th Street, according to Miami police.
Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department said, “The driver of the school bus was transported to North Shore Hospital in stable condition. The bus aide was pinned inside of the bus and Miami Fire Rescue had to utilize equipment to free him.”
She said, the bus aide suffered injuries to his legs and was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
Police did not immediately say what caused the crash. Jackie Calzadilla of Miami-Dade County Public Schools said that the bus was on its way to pick up students and take them to Miami Beach Senior High School.
