A 39-year-old man suffered severe injuries when he was thrown from his motorcycle after a head-on collision with a Ford pickup on Southwest 22nd Avenue.

According to Miami police, the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Southwest 22nd Avenue on a 2012 Harley Davidson. The motorcyclist then crossed into the other lane, attempting to avoid a vehicle that made a sudden turn. The rider struck the corner of a northbound Ford F150.

The rider was thrown from his motorcycle and sustained severe injuries from the crash. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital in an ambulance for immediate medical treatment.  His current medical condition is unknown.

The driver of the pickup truck was a 17-year-old. The truck driver sustained only minor injuries from the accident. There was one passenger in the F150 who did not sustain any injuries in the accident.

Police are still investigating the crash. No further information has been released to the press at the time of this report.
