Police are investigating an accident that caused injuries to a pedestrian after he was struck on Academy Park Drive in Jacksonville.

Troopers at the scene said the man was struck by a vehicle while standing on a sidewalk in the Academy Park Drive neighborhood.

The 34-year-old was struck by a 2009 Scion, driven by a 25-year-old woman, that lost control of the vehicle as she was turning left on Academy Park Drive.

Paramedics that responded to the crash transported the pedestrian to the hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries. Report says he had an injury to his leg. The driver of the Scion was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene. Charges have yet to be filed.

Investigators were working to determine what caused the crash. No further details were immediately released.
