Man Struck And Killed By Vehicle While Riding Scooter In Jacksonville

A man was struck and killed by a vehicle while riding his scooter on the Westside in Jacksonville.

According to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Officers were dispatched to an accident which occurred at 6000 Townsend Road. A man was crossing the street in the crosswalk while on his scooter when he was hit by the car.  Police say, the driver of the vehicle was at the scene when they got there.

The man who was struck on his scooter was taken to the hospital by the Jacksonville Fire Rescue. He was however declared died as a result of his injuries at the hospital.

An investigation into the accident is being conducted by the Jackson Sheriff’s Office.

Townsend Road was closed while crime scene detectives carried out investigations in the area.
