A man was killed after crashing his car into trees off of Sanibel Captiva Road.
According to the Sanibel Police Department, who arrived on the scene at 3:35 a.m., the man’s car was found in the trees off the side of the road. Officials from the Sanibel Fire and Lee County EMS responded to assist officers.
The 30-year-old man was pronounced dead by EMS crews, according to Sanibel police.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic Homicide Unit took over the crash investigation. No other information was immediately available from deputies. Officials did not disclose the cause of the crash.
