Report says one person is dead after a three-vehicle accident that shut down all northbound lanes of State Highway 9 for several hours.
Charges are pending as it is believed by officials that speed may have been a factor in this State Highway 9 fatal accident.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the deceased, a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead on the scene of the collision.
A silver Toyota, traveling northbound on State Highway 9, ran off the road, troopers said. They further report that the driver overcorrected the car and hit the guard rail. A black Chrysler and red Nissan hit the Toyota as it was coming to rest in the road.
Report says the driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old female, was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The black Chrysler was driven by a 40-year-old and red Nissan was driven by a 50-year-old. Both were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
