Man Dead In A Two-Car Crash On I-95 At South Fort Lauderdale

It was reported that a 31-year-old man died after two cars crashed on Interstate 95 at South Fort Lauderdale.

Consequent to the accident, report added that one of the cars went off the highway at South Fort Lauderdale, down the embankment and struck two trees.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, both cars were heading south on I-95 just when a Ford Focus moved across two travel lanes. Subsequently, the driver of the Ford tried to enter the far-right lane that was occupied by a Chevrolet Cruze, report says. In the process, Owens’ car spun off the side of the highway and slid down near an exit on the interstate before coming to halt after hitting the trees.

FHP reported that Ford’s driver died at the scene. No one in the Cruze was hurt, according to the FHP report.

Troopers said deceased was speeding, possibly going about 75 mph, when the crash happened.

Report says all lanes at Shady Banks along the interstate were closed for hours while the accident was investigated and cleared.
