Man, 44, Suffers Serious Injuries In Three-Vehicle Collier County Crash

A three-vehicle crash in Collier County Thursday morning has led to serious injuries for a Cape Coral man.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 44-year-old man was heading northbound on County Road 850, south of Whidden Loop, around 6:30 a.m while a 48-year-old Immokalee woman was also heading in the same direction. A 43-year-old Fort Myers man was driving an SUV just behind the Cape Coral man’s car.

Authorities say the victim’s car failed to maintain its lane and traveled onto the southbound lane, where the left front of his car collided with the left front of the woman’s car. The man’s car also collided with the left side of the SUV, which traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree. The man’s car came to rest on the east shoulder of County Road 850, the woman’s on the west.

The Cape Coral man sustained serious injuries, the woman minor injuries and it was reported that the SUV did not have any injuries.
