According to Florida Highway Patrol, one person was killed and another was injured after a three-vehicle crash on MacArthur Causeway in Miami.
The Florida Highway Patrol said, two occupants were stopped in their car on MacArthur Causeway going eastbound near Star, Palm and Hibiscus Islands due to a mechanical issue shortly after midnight. One was identified as a 34-year-old female and the other, a 42-year-old man, names withheld.
A 20-year-old woman was driving east on MacArthur Causeway when her SUV collided with the stopped car, troopers said.
The crash then sent the first vehicle into another car stopped at the intersection. A 40-old-year was rushed the hospital where he later died. The 34-year-old was also hospitalized but with minor injuries.
It was reported that nobody else was injured in the crash.
FHP reported that the eastbound lanes of MacArthur Causeway were temporarily shut down. The road has since reopened.
An investigation remains ongoing.
