The driver and passenger of a Hyundai Elantra received life-threatening injuries after being involved in a traffic accident on Cadima Avenue in Miami, say the authorities.

According to the news release by the officials, the crash happened when the driver of a Toyota Tacoma was traveling east and  crossed the center median into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle. Both the driver and his passenger were ejected out of the car.

It’s unconfirmed yet if they were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. They sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. The driver of the Tacoma was also injured in the crash. He was taken to a local hospital.

Troopers say the crash remains an active investigation. Details of the individuals involved in the crash have not been released by the officials. No other details were immediately released.
