Report says a teenager died and two others were injured after a car slammed into a tree on Oakleaf Village Parkway.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigators were told that the boys, students at Oakleaf High School, were speeding when it happened. Report says they were possibly racing when one of the cars left the travel lanes and hit a tree in the median.
According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, all three victims were taken to Orange Park Medical Center. At the hospital, one identified as Keondre Moss died, and the other two were in serious condition.
“I heard of my classmates talking about it. But, usually, they do it somewhere where there is nobody out. They do it on back roads or somewhere farther out from the city area. I’ve never heard anybody doing it around here,” said an Oakleaf High senior who shares an English class with one of the teens who was injured.
The condition of the other two is yet unknown.
