Two people from Yulee sustained minor injuries in a wrong-way driver accident in Jacksonville that brought traffic to a standstill.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2009 Nissan Altima, driven by a 33-year-old male of Jacksonville, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of International Airport Boulevard at Jacksonville North Estate.

The Nissan Altima driver attempted to make a U-turn when he realized he was going the wrong way, and turned into the path of a 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, driven by 62-year-old man of O’Fallon.

The Nissan Altima driver and a 43-year-old male passenger of Yulee, sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital by EMS.

The Oldsmobile Silhouette driver also sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. All were wearing seat belts.

Police arrest reports indicate the Nissan Altima driver was driving while intoxicated. Other investigation findings will be made public soon, the report affirms.
