Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that four people were injured when two vehicles, a Mercedes and a SUV, collided on FL-15.
The accident reportedly happened on FL-15. Eyewitnesses said, the Mercedes was sideswiped the GMC SUV. It was reported that the 28-year-old driver of the Mercedes was driving at a high rate of speed and spun out of control.
The accident occurred when he attempted to overtake the SUV. Police say, the Mercedes struck the SUV on the side from the rear. The SUV slammed into a Toyota SUV parked by the side of the road, police added.
According to the reported, the driver of the Mercedes was the sole occupant of the car. There was a family of three in the GMC SUV, a 13-year-old boy and his parents.
Based on the available information, one of the people involved was taken to a nearby hospital. The other three was also injured but were treated at the site of the accident. There was no further information on the conditions of the victims.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
