Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department is investigating a car accident. The accident happened on Powers Avenue near Toledo Road.

Police said the driver of a Honda was traveling south while a Dodge pickup truck was traveling north on Powers Avenue. The Dodge slowed to make a left turn onto Toledo Road from Powers Avenue. The driver took too wide of a turn and his truck collided with the oncoming Honda in the process, a law enforcement spokesperson added.

Officials say the driver and front seat passenger in the Honda were seriously injured. The third occupant, a backseat passenger, was found in critical condition having sustained severe internal injuries, EMS reported. The three occupants of the Honda were transported to the nearest hospital.

The two occupants of the Dodge pickup truck also sustained serious injuries and were transported to the same hospital by EMS.

This accident remains under the investigation of at this time.
