The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 23-year-old woman from Lawtey and her passenger were injured in a single vehicle accident on Normandy Boulevard in Westside.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, she was driving westbound in a 2000 Honda CRV in Westside when she attempted to avoid a collision with another vehicle. The accident occurred in the westbound lanes of Normandy Boulevard.

Her car went off the left hand side of the road, where it overturned. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries. Her lone passenger, a 21-year-old woman from Lawtey, was also injured in the accident.

They were both transported by ambulance to a hospital in Jacksonville for treatment.

The Florida Highway Patrol and Jacksonville Police Department are both investigating the accident.
