It was reported that a multi-vehicle crash with injuries has shut down a portion of U.S. 41 just south of Corkscrew Road in Estero.

Report says the Florida Highway Patrol and Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash shortly after it happened.

The details of the crash incidence have not yet be made available to the public. It was reported that there were casualties as a result of the multi-vehicle crash in Estero, but the count of the victims involved and victims injured has not been released at this time.

According to the crash report, all the lanes of U.S. Route 41 at Common’s Drive were blocked at Williams Avenue due to the extent of the accident. However, the southbound lanes, has reported, have since reopened. Meanwhile, the northbound side will likely be closed for a period of time.

Authorities strongly advised motorists to avoid the area, if possible, and to use alternate routes.
