
Report says a 17-year-old Clay County boy was killed in a head-on accident on State Road 16 at Francis Road in St. Johns County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Middleburg teen was a passenger in a car driven by a 16-year-old Middleburg boy.
The 16-year-old driving on State Road 16 reportedly ignored the right of way of a pickup truck at the intersection with Francis Road. FHP reported that the resulting head-on crash killed the 17-year-old passenger of the car and seriously injured the 16-year-old driver.
Both teens were wearing seat belts, report says.
It was reported that the 42-year-old woman driving the pick-up was not injured. She was also wearing her seat belt.
Troopers investigated the crash. Meanwhile, all lanes of State Road 16 between I-95 and Pacetti Road were blocked in both directions.
