Gulf Harbor Drive Accident Left Two Bicyclists Injured

Two bicyclists reportedly sustained serious injuries when struck by a vehicle on Gulf Harbor Drive, Naples.

This accident reportedly happened on Gulf Harbor Drive in North Naples. A 2012 Honda Accord driven by a 23-year-old man struck two bicycles. These two bicyclists were reportedly riding their bicycle eastbound of County Road 888 into Gulf Harbor Drive intersection.

Police reported that this incidence happened when the Honda drove into the intersection, exceeding the speed limit.

The 27-year-old woman riding one of the bicycles struck is in a critical condition, EMS said. As well as the other bicycle rider that sustained severe but non-life-threatening injuries.

It was reported that the crew rushed her to a nearby hospital. The bicyclists suffered severe injuries on the knees and arms. The driver of the Honda is still on the scene of the crash at his own volition.

Meanwhile, authorities reported that the cause of the driver’s over speeding has not been determined. No charge has been filed yet as investigation is still ongoing.
