Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported a three vehicle crash in Mandarin which left four people with serious injuries.

The crash occurred in the 11200 block of Old St. Augustine Road near Losco Road. A Dodge pickup traveling northbound on Old St. Augustine was hit by a Nissan Pathfinder traveling southbound. The driver of the Nissan swerved to avoid hitting a dog that ran out into the street.  The Nissan clipped the rear quarter panel of the Dodge causing he it to hit the median and a third vehicle.

The report says four people were injured and taken to an area hospital. The driver of the Dodge was taken to Orange Park Medical Center having received life-threatening injuries. The degree of injuries for all of the victims was not known at the time of this report.

The crash remains an active investigation. No other details were immediately released.
