It was reported that a one-year-old girl sustained critical injuries in a head-on crash on Normandy and Chaffee. It appears the girl was not properly restrained in a car seat when the accident occurred.
According to the report by Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a pickup truck who was westbound on Normandy ran off the road. Consequently, the truck hit a mailbox before crossing into the eastbound lanes of traffic and hit a car head-on.
Report says the driver and two passengers in the pickup truck were both thrown out due to the impact of the crash. These victims were reportedly transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. According to the report, the driver of the car was also sustained serious injuries.
A preliminary crash report indicates alcohol was not involved in the crash. Charges are pending.
