Authorities reported a three vehicle crash, which happened on US-41 in Fort Myers, was responsible for a woman sustaining critical injuries.
According to police, the driver of a Lexus was in the middle lane and lost control of his vehicle. He then continued to drive into oncoming traffic. The driver of the Lexus hit a Nissan. Seconds later another vehicle also hit the Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan, simply identified to be in her mid-thirties, was critically injured by the double hits she had suffered within seconds of each other. She was transported to the nearest hospital.
The driver of the Lexus sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver of the third car was not hurt in the crash. The road was blocked in both directions for several hours.
The crash remains under investigation. Details of the victims involved in the crash has not been released by the officials. No other details were immediately released by the officials.
