According to Florida Highway Patrol, one person was killed and another was injured after a three-vehicle crash on Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers.
the Florida Highway Patrol said, the two occupants were stopped in their car on Daniels Parkway going eastbound near Danport Boulevard due to a mechanical issue shortly after midnight. One was identified as a 34-year-old Manel Evariste and the other, 42-year-old Nahomie Deltor.
Simultaneously, 20-year-old Sara Pequeno was driving east on Daniels Parkway when her SUV collided with the stopped car, troopers said.
The crash then sent the first vehicle into another car stopped at the intersection. Deltor was rushed to the hospital where she later died. Evariste was also hospitalized but with minor injuries.
Nobody else was injured in the crash.
FHP reported, that the east and westbound lanes of Daniels Parkway were temporarily closed at Danport Boulevard near the on-ramp to I-75 for much of the morning. The road has since been reopened.
