
According to a Miami Police department’s spokesman, four people were injured following a wrong way accident on Northwest 81st Street, near Arcola Lake Elementary School.
Law enforcement officials say they are currently investigating a multiple-vehicle accident involving a wrong-way driver. This happened on Northwest 81st Street, leading to multiple injuries. According to MPD, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of the highway. Authorities believe the driver missed his turn and crashed into two cars and one van traveling in the opposite direction.
EMS arrived at the scene of the accident soon after it happened to administer on-site first aid to the injured victims in the incident. Emergency crews reported that the 21-year-old male driver, who drove his Honda Crosstour into the wrong way, sustained serious injuries. The occupants of both cars reportedly involved in the accident were also injured. The van driver was not injured, but some of his passengers sustained minor injuries, with one being seriously injured.
Officials reported that all of the injured victims in the accident were either treated at the scene or transported to an area hospital by ambulance.
Police say the incident is still under investigation and no further details were released.
