Authorities reported that a school bus carrying 38 students home from a local Elementary School was rear-ended in an accident. This incident led to fifteen of the students being sent to a nearby hospital.

Police officials say the accident happened when an elementary school bus was rear-ended by another vehicle. The second vehicle was a pickup truck that was also hit from behind at the intersection of Alden Road and Kernan Boulevard South.

The school bus was stopped on Kernan Boulevard South waiting for the opportunity to turn left. The pickup truck that collided with the bus was stopped behind it waiting at the same intersection. A third vehicle approached and crashed into the pickup truck from the rear pushing it forward until it forcefully rear-ended the bus ahead.

EMS arrived on the scene and administered first aid to the injured victims. They reported that fifteen children, out of the 38 total on board, were transported to the nearby hospital as a precaution for testing and observation. None of the drivers or occupants of the other vehicles were injured, according to EMS

Authorities did not release any information on the identities of anyone involved in the accident. It was also stated that the police are currently investigating the incident. No charges have been filed yet.
