Fiery Accident On West Beltway 295 Resulted In A Serious Injury

A report says a woman was badly injured in an accident while driving to work on West Beltway 295. This was after a tractor-trailer hauling pine chips jackknifed and overturned, crushing her car.

The JSO reported that a 36-year-old female was found in a critical state after the accident at Picketville on West Beltway 295 in Jacksonville.

According to the accident report, the tractor-trailer carrying pine wood chips tried to stop abruptly. The driver of the truck lost control causing his truck to jack-knife, overturn and strike a Ford Fusion.  The driver was badly injured, police said. The driver of the Ford was rushed to the nearest hospital.

The northbound lanes of West Beltway 295 were closed and later reopened after several hours of work to clear the scene. Emergency crews had removed all of the debris, the tractor-trailer, and the Ford Fusion.

An investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending.
