A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was severely injured during a traffic stop.
The trooper was rear-ended while on a traffic stop, according to a tweet from FHP Jacksonville. The crash took place on I-295.
The tweet said, “⚠️Trooper Involved Crash⚠️ I-295 SB at Buckman Bridge (south end). Trooper rear-ended while on traffic stop. Serious injuries to Trooper. Other driver not injured. Possible impairment involved. Two right lanes blocked. Please seek alternate route. Traffic significantly delayed.”

Authorities suspect that a possible drunk driver slammed into the trooper’s car.
The trooper was transported to the hospital for treatment. The second driver was not injured.
