Female Pedestrian Severely Injured In Accident On Southwest 22nd Avenue In Miami

Report says an oncoming vehicle struck a 36-year-old woman on Southwest 22nd Avenue, near Southwest 17th Street, causing severe injuries.

A statement from the Miami Police Department said, a female victim was hit by an oncoming vehicle near the intersection at Southwest 17th Street.

The woman sustained life-threatening injuries and paramedics immediately transported her to a nearby hospital, according to the official. Police shut down Southwest 22nd Avenue for almost an hour as they worked on the scene.

The victim attempted to cross Southwest 22nd Avenue when a Subaru hatchback traveling at a low speed suddenly crashed into her. The 27-year-old driver remained at the scene of the accident and assisted law enforcement officials with their investigation.

The preliminary investigation report is almost concluded and the report will be made public soon.
