The report says a woman was struck by a car after trying to remove garbage bin that fell on Gate Parkway.
A woman was reportedly trying to retrieve a garbage bin after it fell out of the back of a landscaping truck. She was hit and killed by a car on Gate Parkway at Deerwood, authorities said.
Florida Highway Patrol’s spokesperson said a landscaping truck lost part of its load and dropped a garbage bin onto the roadway near Burnt Mill Road prior to the accident. He added that the female driver walked into the roadway to recover the garbage bin when a black Toyota Corolla hit her.
FHP spokesperson added that the Corolla driver tried to swerve to avoid hitting the woman.
No other details were immediately released as the investigation is ongoing.
