Female Pedestrian Killed By SUV On 26th Avenue North

Naples Police Department reported that a woman died after an SUV left 26th Avenue North and ran onto the sidewalk.

The 55-year-old victim, who has not been identified was reportedly struck on 26th Avenue North just before Goodlette-Frank Road. This happened when a man in a Chevy Tahoe went through the intersection and left the road. It was reported that the woman was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she eventually died.

One of the officials said “Witnesses to the vehicle said a white male, who is 30 was unconscious in the vehicle, so it might be a medical reason for him leaving the roadway.”

According to the report, the driver had regained consciousness and was cooperative with investigators once he regained consciousness.

Report says police confirmed that charges would be determine, pending completion of the investigation. However, alcohol and speed did not play a factor in the incident.
