Fatal Van Accident In I-75 Killed Driver

Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 23-year-old driver died when a van slammed into a guardrail on I-75 at Miami Lakes.

Report also says the accident at Miami Lakes sent a passenger to the hospital.

From the report, a lady was driving the Honda Odyssey south on I-75 and for unknown reasons drove into the grass median. According to the FHP report, she hit the end of a guardrail. Due to the impact, the van spun around and the left side of the van struck a concrete pole in the median, troopers said.

It was reported that neither of the two occupants of the van, a woman and her 36-year-old male passenger, was wearing a seat belt.

Report says the passenger was taken to a nearby medical center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The crash closed a portion of the inside lane of the interstate but traffic was flowing smoothly few hours later.
