Fatal Crash Closes Krome Avenue In West Miami-Dade

FHP reports that Krome Avenue was closed between Tamiami Trail and Okeechobee Road after a fatal crash.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol a pickup truck and a Ford Fusion were traveling north on Krome Avenue when they collided. Following the initial crash the Ford Fusion flipped on its side and then rolled onto the grassy shoulder of the road while the pickup truck driver hit a tree. Lt. Alejandro Camacho of FHP stated that speed may have been a factor in the fatal crash but did not elaborate on any other possibilities.

The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead by EMS shortly after their arrival. The driver and passenger in the Ford Fusion were taken to the hospital in stable condition and are expected to fully recover.

All lanes in both directions of the road were closed to allow law enforcement to investigate the scene. Emergency crews were scene cleaning up debris from the accident for some time causing traffic to back up for miles in both directions.

The identities of the parties involved in the accident were not released to the public by authorities at the time of this report and police are still investigating the incident.

Marc Anidjar, from the Law Firm of Anidjar and Levine, commented on the crash:  “This was a serious accident that led to the death of a person and several others to suffer various injuries. A fatal crash could be caused by the negligence or recklessness of another driver. Our law firm is focused on uncovering the cause of the crash and what role another driver played in it. By conducting a thorough investigation, speaking with witnesses and consulting with experts, our legal team can discern how the accident was caused and who was at fault. If another driver is to blame for the loss of a loved one, a wrongful death lawsuit is a possible step.”
