Driver Without Lights Going Wrong Way On U.S. 41 Leads To A Two-Car Crash

A two-car crash has resulted in a man sustaining very serious injuries.

Police have reported that the driver was traveling without headlights and going south in the northbound lanes of 41 south of Greenwood Park.

According to the Authorities the wrong way driver soon drove up to a car traveling in the correct direction.  This driver was in the left lane of 41 and attempted to avoid the car but was unsuccessful. A collision ensued with both drivers of the cars sustaining injuries. They were taken to the hospital with serious injuries according to a witness at the scene of the crash.

The crash is still under investigation all details are not known. The scene of the crash is also still currently being cleared. Traffic was seen building up due to a certain portion of road being closed.  All lanes are reportly going to be opened for travel within the hour to resume normal traffic flow.

It is expected that charges will be handed down to the driver that in this crash according a police officer at the scene.
