Law enforcement authorities report a school bus carrying children to school was hit by the driver of a truck that ran a red light on Northwest 37th Avenue.
According to the news report, the accident happened on Northwest 37th Avenue near Northwest 7th Street at Little Havana. The driver of a truck ran a red light before hitting the front of a school bus as the bus moved into the intersection on a green light.
EMS arrived to the scene of the collision shortly after it happened. They reported that the bus driver was injured in the collision while the children were not injured but appeared quite shaken by the crash. The bus driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution for the minor injuries she sustained in the accident.
EMS said, the driver of the truck sustained injuries in the accident and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment as well.
Officials did not release any other information and say the crash remains under active investigation.
