A man who was fleeing police ran into two other cars on Heckscher Drive. Seven people suffered injuries in the process, including two children.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer said a 27-year-old man fled from police at a high speed eastbound on Heckscher Drive. He was fleeing in a 2010 Dodge Dart, JSO added.
Consequently, his car rear-ended a 2014 Audi car driven by a 33-year-old female. The Audi spun out of control and went off the right side of the road.
The fleeing driver’s car crossed the center turn lane and traveled into the westbound lanes where he hit a Chevrolet minivan head-on. His car finally went off the left side of the road and ran over the concrete curb.
The Audi driver sustained moderate injuries and paramedics transported the driver by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. Additionally, the driver of the Chevy, a 55-year-old female, sustained moderate injuries. Meanwhile, the four other passengers also sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Police are investigating the accident.
