Miami Police have reported that three people were severely injured following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Miami Avenue and Northeast 46th Street.

Reports indicated that the accident was caused as a result of speeding. The incident happened at the intersection of North Miami Avenue and Northeast 46th Street where a Hyundai Accent, driven by a 30-year-old man, was hit by another vehicle. There were three occupants in the Hyundai, the 30-year old driver, his wife and his 57-year-old mother.

The other driver was reportedly was coming from North Miami Avenue, when he ran through the intersection. The driver crashed into the Hyundai while traveling at a high rate of speed, witnesses said.

Emergency crews reported that during the accident the man, his wife and mother sustained severe injuries. EMS transported them to the nearest hospital by ambulance for medical treatment.

Officers said the other driver only suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Police are still investigating the accident and say no charges have been filed at this time.
