Driver And Passenger Severely Injured In Middle River Drive Accident

It was reported that two people were severely injured in a single-vehicle accident on Middle River Drive in Fort Lauderdale.

A 50-year-old man and a 46-year-old-woman were in the  vehicle that left the roadway and struck a tree, the report affirmed.

The accident happened close to the intersection of Northeast 12th Street on Middle River Drive, according to the spokesperson of the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 2010 Hyundai SUV went off the left side of the roadway, the driver over-corrected and the car went off the right side of the road, where it hit the guardrails and several trees.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. The female passenger was also severely injured. She was not wearing seat belt at the time of the accident.

The incident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
