The Police Department has reported that a deputy was taken to a hospital after crashing his patrol car into another vehicle in Fort Lauderdale, Sheriff’s Department said.

Reports said, the deputy was responding to an emergency call at the intersection of Northwest 7th Avenue and Northwest 4th Street. Another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction did not stop for the deputy and crashed into his patrol car.

It was reported the collision left his patrol car damaged and him with minor injuries. Paramedics who arrived the scene of the accident performed first aid treatment on him before taking him to nearest hospital for treatment, officers said.

The other driver involved in the crash was not hurt, police said. No further details about the crash have been released yet.

The crash is under investigation.
