Death of A Pedestrian After Being Hit By A Sports Car In Miami

Crash leads to the death of an elderly woman after being hit by a sports car.

The crash happened on Northwest 27th Avenue and 16th Street near little Havana when a female pedestrian was hit by a sports car.

The Miami Police was called to the scene of the crash where a woman, aged 59, was crossing 16th street from west to east where she was struck by the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro heading north on 27th Avenue. It was later learned that there was no crosswalk on the section of street where the pedestrian was struck.

According to a police report the City of Miami Fire Rescue responded and upon arrival following investigations they pronounced the pedestrian deceased on the scene while the vehicle driver remained on the scene without physical injuries. At the time of the reporting it was not known if alcohol or any other drug was involved.

Northwest 27th Avenue was closed in both directions from Northwest 14th to 20th streets for almost four hours.
