Report says a fatal accident that shut down the southbound lanes of I-75 near Golden Gate Parkway killed a person and injured two others.
According to the report, troopers responded to the crash between a car and a tractor-trailer. The front of the white car was completely smashed.
As indicated in a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 21-year-old woman was driving the car south on I-75, south of Golden Gate Parkway behind a tractor-trailer. The truck was also southbound on I-75. It was reported that there were two passengers in the car and the driver didn’t slow down as the sedan approached the tractor-trailer.
According to FHP, the front of the car hit the trailer portion of the truck. As a result of the crash, the car rotated and came to final rest on the grass median of I-75.
Report says one of the passengers in the car wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver of the car suffered critical injuries and the other passenger suffered serious injuries. The 58-year-old Naples man who was reportedly driving the tractor-trailer wasn’t injured in the crash.
