Law enforcement officials say two people have been confirmed injured after a vehicle hit their motorcycle in the San Marco area of Jacksonville.
Police say, the accident happened close to the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard in San Marco. Close to this intercession, a man and woman were riding a motorcycle on Hendricks Avenue. Then a vehicle reportedly ran a red light and hit the motorcycle directly in front of it at the intersection. The motorcycle was knocked off of the road and hit the guardrail before coming to a stop.
EMS arrived on scene soon after the accident was called in. They were seen giving medical attention to the driver and rider of the motorcycle. The 28-year-old man driving the motorcycle sustained severe injuries. He was immediately transported to the nearest hospital for further treatment.
His passenger, a 25-year-old woman, was also injured in the accident and taken to the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and stayed behind to be questioned by police.
No other details were released and police say the accident is still is under investigation.
